Carrefour UAE Now Has Robots As Employees

Robots are here- they have now become a reality. Yep, Robots have made their way here in the UAE. No, don’t worry, they are not here to take your jobs, they have just got employed like you and me. Who has hired them? Well, Carrefour has announced the 11 new inventory robots in the UAE stores and here’s everything you must know about it.

Tally Robots Have In-Built Camera, Which Helps Them Handle And Manage Stocks At The Stores
Known as the Tally Robots, they are used at various stores to support stock management and control to ensure that shelves are full and that your favourite products are always in store. Now ain’t that super cool? Well, they are perfect for the role- since they one thing we humans don’t have, and that is cameras. Yep, the Tally Robots are 163cm tall and weigh around 30kgm and are fitted with cameras so they can check for stock errors. Their built also helps them notice when products are out of stock, spot price mismatches, incorrect barcodes and stock misplacement.

These Robots Are Also Making Things Simpler For Their Fellow Human Employees
Well, that’s not it. These robots make their fellow human supermarket colleagues lives easier by reducing the overall workload and stock duties. Speaking about this, Philippe Peguilhan, country manager of Carrefour UAE at Majid Al Futtaim Retail, said,

We are working to better our processes, enhance our efficiency and digitise our operations in the region. It is exactly what Tally Robot has achieved. With product availability, placement and pricing data fully automated, we can offer a more efficient and convenient service at our Carrefour stores, while freeing up our colleagues to be more focused on helping our customers with their shopping experience.”

If you are curious about these robots and can’t wait to spot them then, you can check them out at Carrefour stores across the UAE including Mall of the Emirates, City Centre Deira, City Centre Mirdif, City Centre Me’aisem, Dubai Festival City, Ibn Battuta Mall, City Centre Ajman, Yas Mall, Jimi Mall, City Centre Al Zahia, and Cityland Mall.
