Four Galaxy phones lose security update eligibility as Samsung concludes their promised support period.
End of the Road for Four Galaxy Phones
Samsung has officially ended software support for four of its mid-range and entry-level smartphones:
- Galaxy A03s
- Galaxy A52s
- Galaxy F42 5G
- Galaxy M32 5G
These devices, launched between August and September 2021, have now reached the end of their four-year security update lifecycle, as originally promised by Samsung.
What This Means for Current Users
While these phones stopped receiving major OS upgrades some time ago, they continued to receive security patches—until now.
- Starting October 2025, these models will no longer get any software updates.
- Without security patches, they become increasingly vulnerable to malware, data breaches, and other cybersecurity risks.
- It’s now strongly recommended that users consider upgrading their device.
Samsung’s Industry-Leading Software Policy
Samsung has led the Android ecosystem in terms of long-term software support, especially for mid-range models.
- The company currently offers up to 7 years of OS and security updates for many recent flagship and premium devices.
- For older and budget models like the ones listed above, Samsung had committed to 4 years of security support—a promise it has fully delivered.
This level of support, while shorter than newer policy standards, was ahead of the industry norm at the time of these devices’ launch.
Recommended Upgrades
If you’re still using one of the affected phones, here are Samsung’s current-generation alternatives:
- Galaxy A03s → Galaxy A07
- Galaxy F42 5G → Galaxy F56
- Galaxy M32 5G → Galaxy M36
- Galaxy A52s → Galaxy A56
These successors offer stronger performance, better cameras, 5G connectivity, and most importantly, longer software support cycles thanks to Samsung’s updated update policy.
Samsung has ended software support for the Galaxy A03s, A52s, F42 5G, and M32 5G. These devices will no longer receive security updates after fulfilling their four-year lifecycle. Users are advised to upgrade to newer models like the Galaxy A07, F56, M36, or A56.
