As Samsung continues to push its One UI 8 Beta ahead of the stable rollout in September, the company is also reinforcing device safety with the August 2025 security update. Released first in South Korea and now expanding globally, this update brings critical security fixes across a broad range of Galaxy smartphones, tablets, and wearables.

  • Available now in Korea, Europe, India, and the US
  • Patch brings 47 security fixes, including 1 critical and 28 high-severity Android issues
  • Includes 18 Samsung-specific vulnerabilities (SVE) addressed

Samsung’s August patch covers a wide selection of Galaxy devices, including flagship S series, foldables, mid-range A/M models, tablets, and wearables. Here are some highlights:

Key Security Fixes in August 2025 Update

This month’s update resolves several major vulnerabilities across Samsung and Android ecosystems:

  • Samsung Account protection improvements
  • Patches to Galaxy Watch sensor services, SOS, and fall detection
  • Fixes for Document Scanner, PkgPredictorService, and core system vulnerabilities
  • No moderate-level threats addressed this month—a rare sign of high-impact focus

One UI 8 Beta Program Expands in August

As security updates roll out, Samsung is also expanding its One UI 8 Beta Program, which brings Android 16 and Samsung’s latest multimodal AI features to select devices.

  • This marks a shift to launching major software updates alongside new hardware
