Samsung’s July 2025 Security Patch Rolls Out to Foldables and Galaxy Buds

Here’s how to install the latest fixes on your Z Fold 6, Flip 6, and Buds 3 series

Samsung has begun deploying its July 2025 security update to last year’s foldables—the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6—just days after unveiling the Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7.

What’s included in the July update?

The new firmware packages deliver system security improvements and patch several Android and One UI vulnerabilities.

  • Foldables: F956NKSS2BYFC for the Z Fold 6; F741NKSSU2BYFC for the Z Flip 6.
  • Earbuds: PDA builds ending in AYG2 for both Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro.

Where is it available now?

Currently, the foldable update is live in South Korea, with a global rollout expected within the next two to three weeks.

  • Region expansion: Europe and North America typically follow Korea by mid-August.
  • Carrier models: Major carriers usually seed firmware a few days after the unlocked units.

Galaxy Buds 3 series update

Your Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro will receive an 8 MB firmware update to smooth out pairing quirks and improve overall functionality.

  • Enhanced connectivity for faster reconnection.
  • Optimized audio management for seamless switching between calls and media.

How to install on your Galaxy Z foldables

  1. Open Settings > Software update.
  2. Tap Download and install.
  3. Ensure you’re on Wi-Fi and have at least 50 % battery.

Pro tip: Back up your data via Smart Switch before updating, in case you encounter any hiccups.

How to update your Galaxy Buds 3

  1. Launch the Galaxy Wearable app.
  2. Tap Earbuds settings > Software update.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to install.

What’s next for One UI 8?

While you’re patching your device, the One UI 8 rollout remains unannounced. Samsung typically rolls major UI upgrades to last year’s flagships a few months after launch, so expect an official timeline in Q4 2025.

  • Beta enrollment: Galaxy S25 users can sign up now.
  • Eligible devices: S24/S23 series, Z Fold 6/5, Z Flip 6/5, and select A series phones.
