India Becomes Frontline Ally in America’s Fentanyl War, Says Kash Patel

Kash Patel on Joe Rogan: How India Became a Crucial Ally in America’s Fight Against China-Linked Fentanyl Networks

FBI Director reveals joint U.S.–India operations, claims CCP is targeting America with synthetic opioid strategy.

A Global Crisis With Geopolitical Undertones

Appearing on The Joe Rogan Experience, FBI Director Kash Patel delivered a stark assessment of America’s ongoing fentanyl crisis, asserting that the drug’s global trafficking chain is no longer merely a cartel issue—but a state-driven campaign directed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

“This is not just a drug crisis—it’s a tier one national security threat,” said Patel.

According to Patel, India has emerged as a critical transit hub in the international fentanyl pipeline—despite being a non-consumer of the drug.

“India Is Not the Problem, But It Could Become One”

Patel alleged that Chinese chemical manufacturers have started routing fentanyl precursors through India to avoid scrutiny, with the final production occurring in Mexico by cartels.

“They’re going to places like India… because India’s not consuming fentanyl,” he explained. “But it’s moving through their territory.”

Patel said he personally contacted Indian authorities and that joint FBI–India law enforcement operations are already underway.

  • “I literally just got off the phone with the Indian government,” he told Rogan.
  • “We’re going to find these companies that buy it and we’re going to shut them down.”

He confirmed that the U.S. is prepared to pursue international indictments and sanctions against complicit Indian firms.

“No Fentanyl Deaths in India” — A Strategic Pattern?

Patel pointed out a glaring discrepancy in fentanyl’s global impact.

“You don’t hear fentanyl deaths in India, or Australia, or Canada, or the UK,” he said.

According to him, the lack of overdose crises in those nations supports the theory that the CCP is deliberately targeting the United States.

  • “Why not take out a generation of young Americans who could become teachers, cops, or serve in the military?” he asked rhetorically.
  • He described it as a calculated geopolitical attack, not a profit-driven drug trade.

Using Canada as a Backdoor

Patel also revealed that cartels have shifted operations northward due to enhanced enforcement at the U.S.–Mexico border.

“They’re flying it into Vancouver, making it up there, and running distribution globally.”

He warned that while the U.S. is currently the main target, Five Eyes allies—Canada, the UK, Australia, and New Zealand—may not be spared for long.

India’s Role: A Personal and Strategic Priority

Patel, who has Gujarati heritage, acknowledged a personal stake in India’s role.

  • Raised in a working-class immigrant household, Patel said his Indian-American identity has shaped his view of global security.
  • “India is not the enemy here,” he emphasized. “But if left unchecked, it could become an unwitting conduit for CCP operations.”

The U.S. plans to act aggressively:

  • Indict Indian companies where possible.
  • Sanction those linked to precursor supply chains.
  • Coordinate prosecutions both in India and the United States.

This marks one of the most direct public acknowledgments by a U.S. official of bilateral drug enforcement operations involving India and the FBI.

A Shift in the Global Fight Against Fentanyl

With over 74,000 American deaths from synthetic opioids in 2023 alone, Patel urged that this crisis be viewed not just through a public health lens, but as part of a geopolitical battle.

“This isn’t just criminal—it’s strategic. And we need our allies, like India, to stand with us now.”
