Italian two-wheeler maker, Benelli and Adishwar Auto Ride India – Mahavir Group – has launched the 2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 BS6 in the Indian market. The new bike is available at a starting price of Rs 4,59,900 for the Steel Grey colour and Rs 4,69,900 for the Leoncino Red colour. It is around Rs 20,000 more affordable than its predecessor.
Interested buyers can book the 2021 Benelli Leoncino for Rs 10,000 by visiting Benelli India website or by visiting the nearest Benelli India dealership. The company is also giving a 3-year unlimited kilometer warranty as standard with the Leoncino 500.
The BS6 variant looks largely identical to the BS4 model. It gets new front headlamp featuring LED technology, fuel tank and seat. Powering the motorcycle is a DOHC, twin-cylinder, four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 500cc engine, which is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. This 8-valve motor is capable of producing a maximum power output of 47.5PS at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 46Nm at 6,000rpm.
The street version of the Leoncino has 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped with 120/70 ZR17 section front and 160/60-ZR17 section front and rear tyres respectively. The motorcycle gets upside down 50mm front forks, while the rear is controlled by a laterally mounted, rebound and pre-load adjustable shock absorber.
For braking, the bike gets radially-mounted 4-piston brake callipers with 320mm discs upfront and a single-piston floating calliper with a 260mm disc at the rear. The bike gets a dual-channel switchable ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System).
