Meet the iX M60, the first all-electric performance model from BMW M GmbH that has 619 PS and 1015 Nm of torque. These are big numbers, for a car regardless of its purpose.
Although it looks pretty much like the regular iX that recently went on sale in India, there are subtle changes that can be spotted on the iX M60.
The electric SUV has 21-inch aero bi-colour wheels, blue-coloured M-branded brake calipers and the M60 emblem on the tailgate. The car can be fitted with 22-inch wheels and it can also be equipped with a Titanium Bronze exterior package.
Inside, the electric performance SUV has perforated Sensatec or perforated leather upholstery, active seat ventilation for the front chairs, and the Radiant Heating package. The car can also be fitted with a Sport package.
Features that the BMW iX M60 comes with include BMW Laser Light headlamps, panoramic roof, 12.3-inch digital cluster, 14.9-inch touchscreen, voice commands, 4-zone climate control and 30-speaker Bowers & Wilkins Diamond Surround Sound System, among others.
The iX M60 comes with a 106.3 kWh battery pack, 450 km range and a dual-motor layout putting out 619 PS and 1015 Nm in Sport mode (or 1100 Nm when launch control is activated). The M60 is also the fastest iX with a 0-96 km/hr time of 3.6 seconds.
However, the car, which comes with adaptive air suspension system with electronically adjustable dampers and an active steering system, can only go up to 249 km/hr tops.
In the USA, the performance electric SUV will be available this June and will cost $105,100 (Rs. 78.24 lakhs). It is not confirmed if the car will be sold in India.
