Tata Altroz Automatic Launched, Priced From Rs. 8.10 Lakhs

Tata Motors has introduced the Altroz petrol auto variants with a base sticker price of Rs. 8.10 lakhs (ex-showroom), today in India. Bookings for the Altroz auto, named ‘DCA’ for dual clutch automatic, began earlier this month and the token amount was set at Rs. 21,000/-.

The auto version of the premium hatchback is available in XM+, XT, XZ and XZ+ grades and its new dual clutch transmission has been paired with the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that makes 86 PS and 113 Nm of torque.

Tata claims the dual clutch transmission comes with shift-by-wire technology, auto park lock feature along with wet clutch with active cooling technology and Machine Learning.

It is the world’s first dual clutch automatic transmission with planetary gears, according to the automaker. With regard to the gearbox, Tata holds 45 patents and says its gear shift time is 250 milliseconds.

Tata will provide the car with a brand new exterior color – Opera Blue – and other existing colors will also be available on the manual versions. Additionally, the Altroz auto will be part of the brand’s Dark edition lineup.
