Recently, the Global NCAP revealed a list of India’s safest cars, and there is no surprise as Tata and Mahindra top the list.

List of Top 10 Safest Cars

Here are the top ten safest cars in India now:

1: Mahindra XUV700 SUV

Mahindra XUV700 received a 5-star crash test rating for adult safety due to its 7 airbags. In addition, it received a 4-star rating for child occupant safety.

2: Tata Punch

Tata Punch scored 5-stars for adult safety and 4-stars for child safety in two separate crash tests. Tata Punch received 16.45 points for adult occupant safety, while it received 40.89 points for child occupant safety.

3: Mahindra XUV300

Mahindra XUV300 was rated 5-stars for adult safety, and 16.42 points out of a total of 17 for adult safety. Safety ratings for adults were 4-stars and 37.44 points out of a possible 49 for adult safety.

Another Mahindra’s SUV with 5-star crash test rating for adult safety and 4-star for the child. Mahindra XUV300 got 16.42 points out of a total of 17 for adult safety and 37.44 points out of 49 points for child occupant safety.

4: Tata Altroz

Tata Altroz earned five stars and 16.13 points for adult safety and just three stars and 29 points for child safety.

5: Tata Nexon

SUV received a 5-star rating and 16 points out of 17 for adult safety, but got a 3-star rating and 29 points out of 49 for child safety.

6: Mahindra Thar

With two airbags as standard, Mahindra Thar, received 4-star rating for both adult and child safety.

7: Honda City

Similarly, the Japanese sedan got similar ratings as the Thar as tested on the fourth generation with two front airbags. The Honda City currently offers six airbags, among other features.

8: Tata Tigor EV

The first EV tested by NCAP comes with dual airbags and has a score of 4 stars for both adult and child safety.

9: Toyota Urban Cruiser

During testing, the Toyota Urban Cruiser was equipped with 2 front airbags and ABS, earning a 4 star rating for adult safety and a 3 star rating for child safety.

10: Tata Tigor/Tiago

Tested with 2 frontal airbags, both the Tata models received 4 star for adult and three for child safety.
