Tata’s Rs 5.5 Lakh SUV: Punch Tops Bestselling Car In 12 Days!

Tata Motors, the homegrown brand of vehicles, is having a moment of its own. Tata Motors’ SUV models, such as the Harrier, Nexon, and Nexon EV, have been well received from customers in recent times. The launch of these models has turned the tables for the company. It looks like the company’s good days are far from over.

Within the first 12 days after its launch, the newly launched Tata Punch has become the second-best Tata car.

Tata hits a heavy punch with Tata Punch!

Tata Motors recently introduced the Tata Punch, a subcompact SUV in India. Within a short time of its official launch, the Tata Punch became the second best-selling car in India. The company’s India lineup includes only one sports utility vehicle of this size. The car starts at Rs 5.49 lakh and goes up to Rs 9.09 lakh for the top specific variant with AMT, ex-showroom Delhi.

Tata Motors registered 8,453 units of the Punch in October 2021, making it its second best-selling model. Tata Nexon topped the sales chart with a total of 10,096 units last month. It experienced a 95 percent year-over-year growth.

Tata Punch comes with attractive features

Tata Punch comes with a single BS6 compliant 1.2-liter, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine rated at 85 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque. With the powertrain, you can choose between a 5-speed manual and an automatic transmission. The Punch scored a 5-Star safety rating in the Global NCAP crash test for adult occupant protection.

There is also a 7.0-inch multi-touch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Tata’s iRA connected car technology is available as an optional package for Rs 30,000.

Competition for the Tata Punch includes the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, the Mahindra KUV100 NXT, the Renault Kiger, the Nissan Magnite, etc. Could the Tata Punch be successful in the market? We will have to wait and see.
