‘RRR’ Continues To Roar In Japan; Overtakes ‘Baahubali 2’ To Achieve This Record

SS Rajamouli’s directorial RRR shows no signs of slowing down in extending its success. After hearing over Rs 1200 crore worldwide, action-packed movie was released in Japan. The Ram Charan and Jr NTR starrer once again proved to be a universal entertainer as the Japan belt accepted and appreciated the movie.

Aamir Khan’s 3 Idiots had overtaken RRR at the box office with approximately $17.3 crore, surpassing Baahubali 2. According to Hindustan Times, RRR also became the fastest Indian film to join the JPY300 million club in Japan. The film was released on October 21, 2022.

There were reportedly 209 screens and 31 Imax screens in 44 cities where the movie was released. In Japan, RRR is now the second highest grossing Indian film of all time. On the other hand, Rajinikanth’s Muthu remains the undefeated king of Indian cinema in Japan with JPY400 million box office collection.
