‘RRR’ Starring Ram Charan and Jr. NTR Lands In Legal Trouble, PIL Filed Against Movie For Distorting Historical Facts

SS Rajamouli’s star-studded ‘RRR’ starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR is one of the most-anticipated movies of 2022. After a long wait, fans were all about to catch the action in cinemas on January 7, but the unexpected spike in Covid-19 cases in the country compelled the makers to push the film’s release indefinitely. Things appear to be getting worse for the makers of the magnum opus project as a student from Andhra Pradesh has filed a PIL in the High Court alleging that the makers are distorting historical facts with the period drama.

In addition to accusing the makers and writers of ‘RRR’ of distorting Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem’s history, Alluri Sowmya has reportedly also requested a stay order on the release of the film and its censor certificate. While RRR is reported to be a fictional story based on two freedom fighters, the ace filmmaker has time and again claimed the film is a work of fiction based on true stories.

The makers have yet to address this issue, but have said earlier this week that the current alarming situation in the country has forced them to delay the release. As a result of the best interests of all parties, we are forced to postpone our film. Thanks to the fans and audience for their love and support. #RRRPostponed #RRRMovie”

SS Rajamouli, the director of the much-anticipated period drama, has revealed that Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn have cameo roles. “They play cameos in the film, I will not deceive the audience about that. In terms of importance, they are equally important, sometimes even more than the heroes themselves.”
The film starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR will be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
