As the country is now battling the second wave of COVID-19, increasing our body immunity is highly important to shield ourselves from infections and diseases. And while at home, we can resort to natural ingredients to boost our body immunity. Earlier, we had told you about the diet the Centre has suggested for boosting immunity. Now, Delhi-based doctor, Dr. Rajesh Sharma told India Today about a homemade powder to improve the immune system. Half a teaspoon of this powder has to be consumed with lukewarm water before going to bed every day.
How To Make The Powder
The immunity-boosting powder suggested by Dr. Sharma is easy to make. You can prepare it with simple ingredients available in your kitchen. To make the powder, you’ll need the following:
- 1/4 tsp haldi powder
- 1/2 tsp saunf
- 1/4 tsp jeera
- 1/4 tsp ajwain
- 2 laung
- 1/4 tsp coriander seeds
- 1/4 tsp ginger powder
In a pan, mix half teaspoon saunf, one-fourth teaspoon jeera, one-fourth teaspoon coriander seeds and one-fourth teaspoon ajwain. Roast these for around 7 to 10 minutes and let them cool. Crush them in a grinder and make a smooth powder. To this, add one-fourth teaspoon haldi powder and one-fourth teaspoon ginger powder. Store the final product in a jar after mixing well. The powder can help in boosting the body immunity by fighting bacteria and improving the digestive system. While ajwain, jeera, saunf and laung can improve digestion and boost immunity, haldi boosts the antioxidant capacity of the body to fight against infections. The gingerol in ginger powder also has medicinal properties. Before going to bed, consume half a teaspoon of this powder in lukewarm water.
