Instagram to Introduces Text-to-Speech Feature and Voice effects for Reels

Instagram is releasing a couple of exciting features that will help users create creative reels. To compete with TikTok, Instagram is introducing new voice effects and text-to-speech features for Reels. Users can use these features when editing Reels. Using these features will make your Reels more engaging and interactive.

According to Instagram, “we know that using sound and audio is one of the funnest parts of creating Reels; which is why today we’re launching two new audio tools called Voice Effects and Text to Speech. Explore these tools to take your Reels to the next level.”
Instagram will let creators use an artificial voice instead of their voice in the Reels. TikTok users, however, are already familiar with this feature. TikTok already has a text-to-speech feature. Instagram decided to implement the text-to-speech feature due to its popularity. Beginning this week, creators will be able to use the feature. Both iOS and Android users will be able to use it. It is important to note that to get the new features on Reels, users will have to update to the current version of the app.
On a related note, Instagram will soon roll out a feature that would remind users to “take a break” from the app. If you love to scroll over your Instagram feed all day, the upcoming feature would be highly beneficial for you. The photo-sharing app will remind you to take a break from the app if you have been hooked on it for too long. Interestingly, you can decide after how long you want the app to remind you to go off the app. The feature is currently being tested, and it will only be available in December.
Taking a Break This week, we started testing a new feature called “Take a Break,” which allows you to receive break reminders in-app after a specified duration. Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram, confirmed testing the feature. I’m excited to analyze the results and hopefully launch it by the end of the year.
