Mark Zuckerberg Introduces Call Link Feature For WhatsApp That Allows Users To Join Calls Via A link

Mark Zuckerberg announced that WhatsApp is introducing a new feature that will allow users to join calls via a link. By clicking on the create call links option, users can generate the link and then send it to anyone they wish. Further, the company’s chief said a feature that allows up to 32 people to join a video call is in development.

Meta-owned popular messaging platform has joined hands with Bharti Airtel to host an ‘Airtel IQ Hackathon’ where start-ups will get a chance to build new age business solutions for WhatsApp. Furthemore, prize money worth Rs 1 crore will be given to the winners of this contest along with mentorship and learning modules.

Airtel said that with the ‘Airtel IQ Hackathon’, the company aims to offer “Independent Software Vendors (ISV) to the emerging startups”. It added further that the student community will get an “opportunity to leverage technology and drive customer experience and better engagement”.

Speaking of the new Call Link feature, the WhatsApp users will soon get to add up to 32 people in a video call and the call will be end-to-end encrypted. Currently, the platform allows only 8 users to join a video call; however, it will be increased to 32 people very soon, as per Mark Zuckerberg.
