Telengana, an Indian state, has joined the Metaverse bandwagon with its ambitious Space Tech metaverse project. State-specific space-tech framework virtual world will serve as Telangana’s very own hub of technological advancement. As a one-stop destination for space technology, it is the only one of its kind in India (so far). Many other states would be able to create virtual worlds based on this. In addition, it is a step forward to the (somewhat) diminishing glory of the state as the IT hub of India.
PartyNite Metaverse hosts the launch event. The space themed virtual world will host key government officials and dignitaries in their virtual avatars. The launch event attendees would be able to interact with these virtual avatars in real time, and 50 users will be able to partake in the ceremony. The launch will also include a 3D award ceremony which can later be minted as NFTs.
An official in Telangana’s IT ministry noted that the state will seize the opportunities created by the central government’s reforms in the space technology sector. Furthermore, this would encourage private agencies to form partnerships with the state government to advance space technology development. Despite India’s commendable position in space technology, there are many frontiers in which the nation can excel. We look forward to a world where collaborative endeavours govern missions and projects now that the race to be the first in space and on the moon is over. With bigwigs like SpaceX and Blue Origin in the leaderboard, India would be looking forward to our very own desi Elon Musk. Maybe some of the dhanna seths like the Ambanis and the Adanis can take the cue.
