Germany Travel Update: No Quarantine Needed For Fully Vaccinated Travellers

The German government eased Covid-19 travel restrictions for travellers, permitting fully vaccinated people or those who have recovered from Covid to enter the country without any quarantine obligation. The new guidelines also permit travellers who test negative for Covid-19 to leave quarantine early. German lawmakers approved the new guidelines on May 12. However, the relaxed restrictions will not apply to tourists from countries where variants of concern are clustered. Here’s everything you must know about the travel update from Germany.

Travel Updates For People Visiting Germany
Germany has loosened travel restrictions, keeping an eye on summer travel. The German government now permits fully vaccinated travellers or those who have recovered from Covid-19 to skip compulsory testing and quarantine. Moreover, travellers who test negative for Covid-19 can also leave quarantine early. According to the Associated Press, the German lawmakers approved these changes in guidelines on May 12. But travellers from countries recording Covid variants and clusters, can’t avail of these benefits. The good news is that around one-third of Germany’s population has received at least one dose of the Covid vaccine. Around 10 per cent of the population has received two doses as per the government figures.

Germany Cancelled Oktoberfest To Curb Covid Spread
Germany looks forward to reopening its borders and welcoming vaccinated travellers during the summer season. The country recently cancelled its famous Oktoberfest again this year to prevent the rise in Covid cases. A large number of Germans, look forward to summer vacations as the U.K, Italy, France and Greece reopen for international tourism. Moreover, Germany looks forward to rolling out an app-based vaccine passport by the end of June.
