Pune University Establishes Industry-Academia Forum

Founded by the Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Skill Development Centre, the Industry-Academia Forum promotes industry-academic partnerships. The Skill Development Center hosted a meeting at the beginning of the project.

SPPU Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr Sanjeev Sonawane, Dean of Interdisciplinary Study Group Dr Deepak Mane, Director of Skill Development Department and Dean of Department of Commerce and Management Parag Kalkar, Head of Law Department Dr Jyoti Bhakere, faculty of Skill Development Department, and students were present. On this occasion, the forum was inaugurated digitally by dignitaries.

Parag Kalkar said, “The Industry-Academia Forum aims to plan innovative activities for the students with the joint thinking of the experts in the industrial sector and the professors of the university. Through this, activities will be organized to increase the employability and efficiency of the students and to develop the latest knowledge and skills among them.”

Clean Max Energy Industry Manager Dhananjay Nandedkar, Panama Industries Group CEO Rahul Nalavade, Kalp Power Industry CEO Kamlesh Kataria, Industrial Technical Education Institute Former Principal Ram Kakade, Cummins Industry Former Manager Sunil Barve, Technorights Director Makarand Pandit, Director of Information Design and Development Department of BMC International Company, Manager of Information Design and Development Department of BMC International Company Ashwini Mathad, B. U. Bhandari, Energy Company Manager Makrand Parkhe, Founder of Maitrey Energy Solutions Prateek Gaikwad were present.

On this occasion, the officials promised to support the students for maximum training in real industries. Also, the experts provided valuable guidance about the opportunities available in the industry and what courses are required for it. Dr Sanjeev Sonawane gave guidance on the current need for skill development.

Dr Deepak Mane participated in discussions with experts and awarded prizes to the successful students of the Technical Writing Course. For the program’s success, the Director of the Skill Development Department, Dr Parag Kalkar, guided and introduced the program.

Dr Anjali Jagtap-Ramteke conceptualized Industry-Academia Forum also served as convener for this meeting. Dr Pooja More and Dr Ravi Ahuja coordinated the program and were supported by fellow professors Dhananjay Mundhe, Ajit Zende, and Priyanka Mane.
